Our Process
Initial Discussion
Once contacted we will reach out to you and discuss the details of your specific project.
CAD Design/Updates
After our initial discussion we will either create the design for your project or edit your initial CAD file to be small batch/3D printer capable. All files will be given to the customer as part of the service!
First Print / Sample
Once the design is complete and CAD is approved, we will print a small number of parts and send them to you for evaluation and/or fitup and testing. We are more than happy to work with you on any changes and any number of samples you need before production!
Small Batch Production
After your sample parts are approved, and any changes are made, we will issue a quote for batch production. From there, we will request a PO to verify quantities and any other information. Parts will then be manufactured, checked, and shipped to you. Once received, please check the parts and get back to us ASAP (contact info below) on any issues and we will work through a recovery plan with you.

FAQ
How can you help our manufacturing business?
We are a group of engineers with extensive experience in the design and manufacture of parts for additive manufacturing and small batch production. Our primary area of competence is helping you either realize your design and/or turn your design into something that can easily be manufactured in small batches. We also offer additive manufacturing capability of those designs, providing a one-stop-shop for your business.
Where is small batch additive manufacturing most useful?
While there are a wide range of uses for additive manufacturing in the manufacturing and/or prototyping environment, we've found that the most useful application of this technology is in a few areas: small order quantity/volume parts where the cost of a full injection molding and/or other tool is not feasible/cost effective, and as a stop gap between the initial design and while tooling is being manufactured.
Why choose MD Engineering?
As a smaller design and manufacturing firm you can rest assured you will get significant design and manufacturing talent alongside pricing that is more competitive than most firms that offer similar services. As career engineers at major manufacturing and consumer product companies, we are in tune with the needs and time constraints in the product development environment and are uniquely positioned to provide significant value to any interfacing engineer.
What type of payment methods do you accept?
We are able to offer both standard credit card payments (American Express, Mastercard, Visa) as well as full ACH payments. Our billing is typically done through a purchase order process, that is ideal for larger manufacturers.
